Just returned from a trek to Annapurna Base Camp which was amazing. It was a wonderful experience to be in such a remote and serene place surrounded by some of the world's highest mountains. Trekking up towards ABC you invariably had sight of the majestic peak of Machhhapuchhere which was a wonderful experience in itself. Add to this the culture and the people and the opportunity to see Kathmandu and Pohkara the trip was really several rolled into one. My guide and porter were great. Madan my guide went to great trouble to make sure that I was comfortable with the pace and progress at all times. The organisation of the whole trip went very smoothly with all connections, trips, taxis, hotels working out very well. The only thing that couldn't have been predicted was the wildcat strike that cleared everywhere of buses and taxis. Fortunately thanks to my pre-booked flight I managed to get back to Kathmandu to get my flight back to the UK. My guide even walked for an hour to get to the airport to meet me to make sure I got back to my hotel OK. I have to praise Nepal Uncovered for being spot on with everything and providing me with a truly great trip.
